Cheap Wedding Dresses

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

Times are tight now, and anyone that is making plans to get married in the near future will no all to well how all of the separate items seem to add up, so should the bride be tempted to skimp on her attire and just find a cheap wedding dress.

Well there certainly is a lot more choice available now it would seem both on the high street, on the internet and at wedding fairs. British Home Stores are one of the recent additions to this increasing choice. They are now sitting alongside many retailers who have managed to get a decent designer to create a range of bridal wear that would not look out of place for that special day. A cheap wedding dress does not have to be a poor wedding dress as a lot of people have found out as their sales are doing very well thank you.

The only people that may not be so enthusiastic about the arrival of the cheap wedding dress must be the suppliers and retailers of those very expensive wedding dresses as they must have seen the number of people walking through there doors with blank cheques diminish quite considerably in recent times. The economics of a country mean that really the real winners of lean times are those that react and provide what the market wants or needs.

The arrival of the cheap wedding dress is just one of those winners. There really isn’t much to say that could not be applauded to the retailers that have branched out in order to offer the consumer what they need in times of lean. One thing to think about is if the dress fits well, would anyone in the congregation really have a clue whether the dress was £90 or £9000, ill bet most wouldn’t, especially then men.

In fact the only real competition to the cheap wedding dress has to be the dress that is either hired or bought previously used, hey, surely that has to be a good thing too if items that cost both financially and environmentally are being used more than once.

Trouble is that maybe the cheap wedding dress can give you a false sense of security and lead you to looking for everything that is now hugely cheaper than was a decade ago, but is that such a bad thing, especially as every pound is hard to earn these days?

Hurray for the cheap wedding dress then, anyone seen honeymoons in the Maldives being sold in Asda for £200 yet?

What can be more important a job than ensuring that every bride across the whole of the country gets the dress she wants. The wedding dress she has dreamed of, the wedding dress she has always wanted.

Cheap Plus Size Wedding Dress Guide

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

Before you start looking for your cheap plus size wedding dress there is an important factor to know, the sizing on wedding dresses is normally smaller than your usual dress size, so instead of relying on the sizes you need to rely on your measurements instead.

The next strange but true factor when wedding dress shopping is that most bridal stores will not hold a great deal of plus size stock, some will not hold any. Instead they will show you the styles that you could have and pin a size 10 wedding dress on to you! This must be the maddest thing ever, you do not buy an important dress without trying it on first, you need to know if it looks good on you and if you feel fantastic wearing it.

Every bride wants to feel like a princess on their wedding day and there are some amazing plus size wedding dresses available in very good wedding stores and online, here is how to find them.

First you will need accurate measurements and with that information call your local bridal stores to see if they have your size in stock. You want to be able to try on the dresses not guess whether they are the dress for you.

Second, try on lots of dresses to find the dress of your dreams, but do not buy it the first time you see the dress, walk away from the shop with the details of the dress with you. Make sure you know if the dress has been altered.

Third, use the internet to find the exact same dress but at a cheaper price. Either buy it online or use this price to negotiate a better price at your local bridal store.

Fourth, realize that you will probably have to spend money on having your dress altered, most people do. If you choose a corset style wedding dress these are more forgiving as you can tie them tighter or looser if needed. Find a local seamstress that will be able to make any alterations you need and compare these prices to those that the shop are offering, use the best and cheapest! If the shop messes up they will have to replace the dress, make sure the seamstress is insured as well.

Fifth, your wedding dress should make you feel amazing, beautiful and confident, anything less and it is not the dress for you. Look to show off your assets and do not feel you need to go with a boring dress that covers everything up. Keep looking until you find the one.

Finding a Cheap Wedding Dress

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

For those on a tight budget one way to keep a wedding within your financial means is to select a cheap
wedding dress. When I say “cheap” I do not mean shoddily made, I mean one that you searched high and low for and once you found it you haggled on the price until you got it at the price you wanted. For an item that is worn only once and usually only for a few hours it is hard to justify spending thousands and thousand of dollars for something that has that little utility.

There are many ways to find an inexpensive wedding dress. One way is to search on Craig’s list classified ads. Craig’s list is set up by city and so all you would need to do is go to Craig’s list and find the closest metropolitan area . They have great deals on all kinds of items so may find way more than just a cheap wedding dress.

Another great way to find an inexpensive gown is to look at other online classifieds. One of my favorites is Backpage. They have nationwide listings and have tons of discount wedding dresses. Just go to Google and search for online classifieds and you will find all sorts of online classifieds.

Yet another way is good ole Ebay. I have found that eBay is a great place to find all sorts of wedding supplies at cheap prices. They not only have used wedding gowns but also brand new designer wedding dresses. If you sign up for a Paypal account you cannot get ripped off or I have never been anyway. Check out eBay and also Paypal and you will be amazed at all the things you can get at incredible prices.

Of course the best way to get a wedding dress at a huge discount is to buy a used one. If you are really tight on your budget this is the route you want to take. Most major cities have clothes consignment shops and they always have some beautiful gowns that they are selling. You may find you entire spring wardrobe their for only a few hundred dollars.

You can always get it altered by a good seamstress and it will fit like it was made for you. Of course besides size you want to be sure the dress has no tears or stains and is larger than you are so that it can be altered.

One thing that you can do with your savings is to beef up the accessories you wear on your wedding day. A nice pair of gloves, more and better wedding jewelry as well as a fantastic veil. These will make your overall appearance spectacular which should be your ultimate goal to begin with.

So keep an open mind when looking for cheap or inexpensive wedding dresses. If you have a flair for style then you can make it work and look even better than if you had bought a designer wedding gown.

You can have a wonderful day, which of course it should be and still not break the bank. Remember the point of getting married, it is because you want to be with your partner and to show your devotion in a formal manner.

Flashy weddings are for the celebrities who feel the need to impress their friends and the glossy magazines so leave them to it. A British newspaper recently featured couples who got married for less than £500, do they love each other any less? I do not believe so.

Probably the single most expensive item for the day will be the wedding dress. This is also one of the most important items to the bride, men, take note you will have to take a back seat here. You can trim the cost if you try, by looking at used wedding dress, gasp, horror, used wedding dress? OK, lets take a look at it from this angle, many brides will marry in a vintage wedding dress, for vintage read secondhand.

A used wedding gown can be bought from many places and when you consider it has probably only been worn once if at all then a slightly less expensive dress can be a great saving. You can buy fabulous wedding dresses online so check it out.

The next items are the rings, huge diamonds may look impressive but a plain gold band will be more practical, less likely to lose a stone and be cheaper to insure! Remember it is not the size of the diamond but the size of the heart that gives it.

The wedding breakfast can be made cheaper by inviting a small gathering of family and close friends, wedding venues make a fair amount of money out of catering for weddings so reduce the number of guests and you reduce the cost. If you want a big party for everyone that you have ever met, do it after the honeymoon at a cheaper venue. You will be more relaxed then anyway and probably enjoy it more.

The wedding cake does not have to be a massive commercially made one, if you have a friend who loves cooking ask her to make one, it will make her day and probably be tastier.

A major expense will be the honeymoon if you let it. Think ahead, holidays vary considerably in price throughout the year so if you are set on a couple of weeks in the Caribbean plan your wedding for the cheaper times. Organizing a long haul holiday can be stressful at the best of times so consider a short break in a country hotel instead, you have the rest of your lives to see the world. I hope you find these cheap wedding ideas useful.

If you are getting married soon I wish you everything that you would wish for yourselves and point you to some cheap wedding dresses and vintage wedding dresses.
